Are you looking to transition your accounting career into the expansive and intricate realm of tax? Join the DMCL CPA tax team in our Vancouver office and work on a variety of tax projects for our diverse private and public enterprise clients.

Our tax team is a group of industry insiders who excel in their ability to stay ahead of the curve on new tax rates, credits, and compliance regulations. First and foremost, our people are trusted advisors deeply integrated within our clients' teams, but close second, they're leading strategists and out-of-the-box thinkers who are constantly finding creative ways to solve problems and help our clients achieve their goals.

Projects will include:

  • Preparing complex personal, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns, tax elections, and other tax reporting forms.
  • Assisting with calculations and reporting for various corporate reorganizations, estate plans, business acquisitions and dispositions, compensation strategies, and other client transactions.
  • Training, overseeing, and reviewing the work of staff (tax) accountants.
  • Managing various tax and accounting engagements, ensuring workflow, deadlines, budgets, and client expectations are met.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Preparing moderate to complex personal, trust, partnership, and corporate tax returns, tax elections, and other tax reporting forms, considering implemented strategies.
  • Assisting in tax planning projects, including research, projections, calculations, and preparing instruction letters and memorandums for significant tax issues.
  • Responding to inquiries and requests from various tax authorities.
  • Communicating with clients to ensure their expectations are met.
  • Keeping Managers and Senior Managers updated on project statuses.

Who you are:

  • A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) student or a new CPA with 2+ years of experience in a public practice firm with exposure to a wide variety of clients.
  • Experienced with Taxprep or similar tax preparation software.
  • Proficient in handling tax inquiries and reviews from the Canada Revenue Agency.
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational and analytical skills.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Results-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and adhere to deadlines.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal skills with a strong focus on client service.
