YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare and review Canadian tax returns for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates with the chance to learn the ins-and-outs of U.S. taxation.
• Conduct thorough tax research and stay up to date with tax laws and regulations to resolve tax issues and offer tax support to clients.
• Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax savings and ensuring compliance with present tax laws.
• Assist with the resolution of complex tax issues and represent clients in audits and disputes with tax authorities.
• Develop, build and nurture strong, long-lasting client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on tax-related matters.
• Proactively manage your client portfolio and workload capacity to ensure accurate and timely delivery of tax services.
• Contribute to the firm's growth and business development by identifying and securing potential clients and participating in networking activities.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited post-secondary institution.
• Possess your CPA certification with 3-5 years of tax accounting experience working with diverse industries and clientele.
• Technically versed in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), CaseWare, QuickBooks Desktop & Online, and Tax Cycle.
• In-depth knowledge and application of Canadian tax laws and regulations, and accounting standards (i.e., ASPE, IFRS & ASNPO).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and confidently engage with clients, verbally and in writing.
• You demonstrate self-drive, ambition, passion and initiative to drive success and growth for your career and MJS Tax Services.
• Exercise autonomy, ownership, and accountability to deliver outstanding work to your clients and meet 100% of the commitments you make.
• Exceptional work ethic with the ability to effectively manage your time, handle competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment.

NICE-TO-HAVE

• U.S. tax experience is considered a bonus.
