Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Site Supervisor to oversee construction projects from start to finish. The Junior Site Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with all safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. This role requires a person with leadership skills, time management experience, and knowledge of construction codes and regulations. They must be able to ensure that the work is getting done on time, keep an eye on health and safety issues, and assign workers to tasks.

Duties:

  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
  • Managing construction staff and providing job site leadership and direction.
  • Inspecting work to ensure quality and adherence to project specifications.
  • Scheduling and coordinating subcontractors and deliveries.
  • Interpreting construction drawings, composing requests for information, and performing lay-out of job sites.
  • Assist in training workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Assist in supervision and coordinate construction activities on-site.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues or conflicts that may arise.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other construction documents.
  • Utilize construction management software (e.g., ProCore) to track project progress and manage documentation.
  • Communicate regularly with project managers and other team members to keep them informed of progress and any issues that arise.

Experience:

  • 1 year experience as a Junior Site Supervisor or similar role in the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Proficiency in budgeting and cost control measures
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and other construction documents.
  • Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Completion of a post-secondary education construction training program.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, civil engineering, or related field is considered an asset.
  • Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations.
  • Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
