Salary: $76,609 Annually

The ROCK Therapist has the skills and interest in providing assessment and treatment to children, youth, and families. You bring passion for providing assessment, therapeutic intervention, skills development, and psycho-education through individual, family, and group treatment services. You understand that partnering to provide services for families through service coordination and referrals can be key to building supports around our clients.

Please note there are two openings available: one permanent, full-time position working 35 hours weekly and one permanent, part-time position, working 21 hours weekly.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support, consultation, assessment, and treatment services to children, youth and their families using family, individual, parent-child, and group modalities as required.
  • Coordinate assigned cases, as appropriate.
  • Provide a biopsychosocial perspective within a multidisciplinary team and be aware of the importance of contributions from other disciplines in recognizing and treating disorders of children and their families.
  • Liaise and advocate on behalf of the child and family to other staff members and to significant professionals and programs in the community.
  • Work within a team to develop a coordinated treatment program to meet the child's and family's needs.
  • Be aware of and provide information on community needs to assist in planning for services and programs, both at ROCK and in the Halton community.
  • Provide clinical support to administrative staff, as requested.
  • Maintain documentation for cases in the client information system.
  • Ensure that all required centre reporting information, including all documentation, records, and statistical data is submitted according to procedures and meets professional, licensing, and legal requirements.
  • Promote the direction of the program by engaging in identifying, developing, and implementing program goals, projects, or services.
  • Supervise the clinical and administrative work of students/trainees.
  • Participate in individual and group supervision and related training opportunities.
  • Operationalize client safety through adhering to established policies and guidelines that ensure consistency in the delivery of quality and safe care, and by identifying and reporting any client safety incidents.
  • Abide by the specific requirements of Section 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, as well as any further health and safety responsibilities outlined in the agency's policy and procedure documents.
  • Other duties as may reasonably be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • A relevant master's degree from a recognized university.
  • Regisration with an accrediting professional body is required (i.e. College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, College of Psychologists of Ontario, or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario).

Experience:

  • A minimum of three years clinical experience in family, individual, and parent-child therapy, as well as some experience leading groups. It is expected that this experience will have included appropriate supervision.
  • Relevant knowledge and skill in the assessment and treatment of children, youth, and families that are encountering mental health issues.
  • It is considered a valuable asset if the applicant has practice or training in one or more of the following skill areas:
    • Providing group treatment OR facilitating parent events.
    • CBT, and/or trauma assessment skills.
    • Working across the age continuum using clinical frames, such as systemic family therapy, attachment, and developmental lenses.

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and interviewing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply relevant knowledge and training to the assessment and treatment of children and their families.
  • The ability to speak a second language is highly valued.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Access to reliable transportation in alignment with program needs.
  • Proficient in the use of technology as required of the position, including working in a virtual environment with MAC OS operating systems experience preferred.
  • Current (within three months) criminal reference check with vulnerable sector search.
