Overview:The Project Manager provides project management expertise to deliver solutions for our client and its operating units. This role is responsible for successful planning, implementation and transition of new processes and systems to support the introduction of a new Engineering and Design toolset, including the facilitation of organizational change management.
What you will be doing:
  • Manages cross-functional project team to ensure delivery of the stated project goals and objectives against the established measurement criteria. Team members may include operational and technical staff, contractors and vendors.
  • Develops project plans and budget including activities, deliverables and milestone due dates.
  • Coordinates team resources allocation, managing the deliverables and schedules of project team members to ensure timely and quality delivery of project commitments.
  • Delivers all aspects of the project lifecycle, ensuring quality and completeness of the project delivery.
  • Assumes accountability for project delivery and project communications. Leads training and other change management activities. Prepares regular project status reports and periodic update presentations to Steering Committees and other management staff.
  • Manages project scheduling, estimating, forecasting, budget monitoring and cost reporting.
  • Manages project issues and risks and leads conflict resolution.
  • Defines and measures project performance indicators and takes appropriate corrective action. Conducts post-implementation reviews to ensure continuous improvement and learning
  • Leads transition of new processes and systems to operations, including the facilitation of operational handoff activities and post-implementation support.
What you must have:
  • University degree in the field of business administration, computer science or Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of IT Project Management experience, with 5+ years in a Project Manager role working with complex systems and interfaces, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior work as an IT Project Manager in an Engineering, Custom Manufacturing, Marine or Ship Building environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of system development lifecycle and project management best practices and methodologies.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and drive project progress.
  • Ability to lead and motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal), including presentation skills and report writing.
  • Customer service orientation and ability to present ideas in business and user-friendly languages
  • Problem-solving, change management, budget development, financial management, and risk management skills.
  • Self-motivated, hands-on and self-directed with attention to detail.
