The Position:

Summit Search Grouphas been retained by a local Winnipeg Law Firm on the recruitment of a new Commercial Lawyer. Located in either Winnipeg, Morden, or Winkler, our client is looking to expand their corporate and commercial law department.As a Commercial Lawyer, you will have the opportunity to apply your extensive knowledge and experience in commercial law to support our clients diverse range of business activities and transactions. From drafting and negotiating contracts to providing sound legal advice and facilitating dispute resolution, you will be at the forefront of ensuring legal compliance and minimizing risks while maximizing opportunities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft, Review, and negotiate a variety of commercial contracts and agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, partnership agreements, licensing and procurement contracts.
• Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on a broad range of commercial and business matters, including regulatory compliance, risk management, intellectual property rights, and contractual obligations.
• Conduct legal due diligence reviews for mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions to identify potential legal risks and liabilities and provide recommendations for mitigation.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues affecting clients and provide clear and concise summaries of findings to support decision-making.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, external legal counsel, and other stakeholders, and effectively communicate legal concepts and strategies to non-legal professionals.

Qualifications:

• Practicing member in good standing with The Law Society of Manitoba and proficiency practicing law.
• 7+ years experience in a related position.
• Strong knowledge of commercial contract law, corporate law, and other relevant areas of law.
• Proven problem-solving, logical, and deductive reasoning abilities.
