Reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis, the Senior Financial Analyst – FP&A is responsible for monthly department variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting consolidation, customer and product profitability, and the capital expenditure process. They are a key business partner to the HR and IT leadership team providing recommendations, guidance and insight to the budget and forecast, and monthly department reports.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Budget and forecast all general and administrative departments (i.e., Finance, IT, HR, and Engineering).
  • Create and maintain Fixed and Variable cost templates for all departments and ensure seamless integration into the main budget/forecast model.
  • Lead the consolidation process of the corporate budget and forecasts.
  • Support in putting together the budget and forecast presentations for the Leadership Team and Board of Directors.
Month End
  • Monthly Variance Analysis – review and analyze department expenses, identify accruals to be booked, report and present monthly results to department leads.
  • Monthly reporting –mix and margin analysis, business optimization, and department expense reporting.
Customer and Product Profitability
  • Maintain and update profitability model for key customers and products.
  • Analyze results and provide recommendations to Leadership Team on areas of focus.
  • Support business leads on creating action plans to mitigate issues and challenges.
CAPEX Process
  • Lead the capital expenditure process by reviewing, tracking, reporting, and analyzing requests.
  • Review and work with business leads on putting together return on investment request for capital expenditures.
  • Report monthly actuals versus budget and return on investment.
  • Conduct post audits on all capital requests and present findings to Leadership Team.

Qualifications, Skills, and Educational Requirements
  • University degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
  • 4+ years of experience in sales planning and analysis.
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in sales analytics and business partnering.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong communication skills.
  • Goal-oriented leader with a strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience managing a growing environment with changing deadlines and priorities.
  • Knowledgeable about CPG industry and cross-category management with expertise to effectively support both finance and nonfinance departments within the organization.
