We are currently seeking a Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team in the lower mainland. This is a new role to add to our growing Health and Safety team. The ideal candidate is motivated individual that will be responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel on site. Reporting to the Director of Health and Safety, you will be responsible for traveling between Townline Group projects to help ensure consistent implementation of Townline's Safety Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading and conducting site Health and Safety inspections and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of inspections and trade safety plans
  • Conducting and auditing documented site inspections to ensure standards are met
  • Ensuring Townline's Program is implemented as intended to meet WorkSafeBC & COR requirements
  • Ensuring that required safe work practices and safe job procedures are in place across all sites
  • Assisting Construction Safety Officers with day-to-day challenges on site
  • Identifying, evaluating, developing project specific Health & Safety training
  • Participating in site toolbox meetings, trade meetings and morning meetings
  • Assisting with internal COR Audits
  • Evaluating project and trade Health and Safety performance
  • Notifying and reporting to WorkSafeBC as required
  • Issuing disciplinary action as required
  • Recognizes, evaluates, and advises on hazard identification.
  • Participating in on-site investigative processes and evaluating corrective actions taken
  • Training and mentoring Construction Safety Officers to ensure their continued professional development
  • Assisting with administering and promoting a safe work environment for all personnel on site
  • Arranging for temporary CSO coverage on sites, as needed
  • Other duties as required

Experience and qualifications will include

  • Minimum 5 years' experience overseeing health and safety on a construction site as a CSO
  • Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification
  • Occupational First Aid Level III (OFA 3) Certification
  • Fall Protection Certification
  • Confined Space Certification
  • COR internal Auditor Certificate
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Technical construction knowledge and aptitude
  • Solid knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards.
  • You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
  • Ability to effectively work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills
