Complex Care Housing Coordinator

Full Time Permanent

This permanent full-time position requires an individual with extensive knowledge of the health and social determinants impacting residents who may be experiencing homelessness or risk of homelessness and may be experiencing mental health and addictions. The position provides direction to the Complex Care Housing Team and supports the 10 residents engaging in the Program. The Complex Care Housing Coordinator will deliver high quality, resident focused programs across the continuum of community services and liaise with local community supports and other service providers. The Complex Care Housing Coordinator will provide input and feedback to the director regarding the development and implementation of standards and operational procedures for the model of service that meets professional standards and evidence-based practices. This program is designed to meet the individual needs of each resident starting from where they are in their personal and cultural journey. This position is full-time and is required to be part of the on-call crisis response system.


The Program Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of practice to ensure quality resident care outcomes. This position is responsible for overseeing and guiding support staff, ensuring adherence to professional standards, protocols, and regulations. The position provides supervision, support, and mentorship support staff, fostering their professional growth and development while maintaining high-quality resident care. The role requires strong leadership skills, and a commitment to upholding ethical standards.


In accordance with the organization's established vision and values, the Program Coordinator will provide administrative supports, leadership, supervision, service delivery-level problem-solving to the multidisciplinary Complex Care Housing team, and direct resident care as required.


Qualifications include:

  • BSW or 2 year diploma combined with 5 years of related experience;
  • Willingness and ability to work with residents to be supported in identifying developing, and strengthening their cultural identity and their own life plan;
  • Experience in working with Indigenous groups/communities in a cultural context;
  • Certification, First Aid, Class 4 Driver's License, Crisis Prevention Intervention, Suicide Intervention, Food Safe; are required but will consider applicants willing to achieve after hire;
  • Ability to undergo a successful criminal record search; and
  • Wages $35 to $40/per hour based on qualifications and experience with a full benefit plan and RRSP contributions.
