Implementation and Evaluation of a Digital Wound Care Solution: Implications for Adoption and Impact on the Quintuple Aim.
The National Research Council of Canada (NRC), Swift Medical Inc. (Swift), and the Institute for Better Health, Trillium Health Partners (IBH/THP) are seeking a post-doctoral fellow (PDF) to collaborate on a project entitled “Implementation and Evaluation of a Digital Wound Care Solution: Implications for Adoption and Impact on the Quintuple Aim”. The lessons learnt from this evaluation will contribute to a broader understanding of the pre-requisites for successful integration of AgeTech into community health systems.
The Opportunity
This two-year Mitacs Accelerate Industry project will evaluate the implementation of an innovative wound care solution in the Canadian healthcare system. Working with the project team, the PDF will develop an implementation evaluation protocol, collaborate with clinical sites to conduct research and work to disseminate findings to the scientific community and relevant clinical stakeholders and policy makers.
In addition to collaborating with the Government of Canada, Industry, and healthcare partners from across the country, this PDF will be supported through the AGE-WELL EPIC training program and will be connected to a network of trainees interested in the implementation of AgeTech.
Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a related field (e.g., public health, health sciences, nursing)
  • Experience in mixed methods research, implementation science and protocol development
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with developing evaluation protocols
  • Ability to incorporate financial and health economics into evaluation protocol
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse interested parties including older adults, clinicians and industry members
  • Strong writing and communication ability
  • Clinical background and wound care knowledge considered a strong asset

  • Location: Work remotely from anywhere in Canada, preferably in Toronto or Ontario for on site collaboration with Swift Medical (Toronto) and project implementation sites are in Ontario (on-site locations in Toronto, ON at Industry and academic partner sites)
  • Start date: Immediately, or by arrangement
  • Duration: 2 years
  • Salary: $65,000 with additional budget for $15,000/year for project costs (site visits, conference travel, and publication fees)
