About the role: We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager for our Pavement Products division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating new business opportunities, using the existing database of qualified leads, while also generating new leads. This individual will be critical in building and maintaining customer relationships, in order to plan and execute the sourcing of new business for the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and build close relationships with existing and potential clients, and be the first point of contact for all new business opportunities.
  • Conduct ongoing product demonstrations and product training to new and existing clients.
  • Seek out and generate new business and prospective customers and develop new business relationships for the company.
  • Responsible for preparing sales quotes, requests for proposals (RFPs), sales packages, and tender documents, including price workups, recommendations and communication strategies.
  • Maintaining precise records related to inventory and account information
  • Manage meetings, follow ups, and business activity
  • Generate sales activity reports, including sales in progress, lost sales, sales funnel, activities underway to generate sales
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in business, administration, marketing, sales, preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 6 months of professional work experience with construction products
  • Previous experience with municipal and/or utility industries
  • Hold a valid G driver's license
  • Demonstrates a strong willingness to learn and possesses an outgoing demeanour to actively engage with others
  • Has shown the capability to handle multiple projects at once while carefully focusing on details
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Possesses strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
