Director of Financial Planning, Reporting and AnalyticsGreater Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo AreaJob SummaryOur client, a multinational pharmaceutical and medical device company, is seeking a Director of Financial Planning, Reporting and Analytics (FP&A) for North America. This is an individual with strong leadership, reporting, organizational, analytical and influencing skills. The incumbent will work with all levels of the North American management team.Key Responsibilities
- Lead a dynamic financial team that supports the finance department across all facets including reporting, forecasting, planning, and analysis to drive business success.
- Collaborating with operational and sales leadership to ensure timely and precise financial budgeting and forecasting, conducting thorough reviews to identify variances and recommend enhancements.
- Providing tailored financial analyses and guidance to regional leaders, empowering them to make informed decisions within their respective domains.
- Offering decision support services to management at all levels, actively contributing as a vital member of the leadership team.
- Overseeing cost analysis for current and upcoming business endeavors, collaborating with executives and managers to assess opportunities while ensuring accurate data and analysis.
- Partnering closely with the Regional Accounting Manager to comprehend the entire financial reporting cycle and facilitate the implementation of new operational processes and systems for enhanced efficiency and cost reduction.
- Manages and provides leadership to analytical finance team, including employee development, objective setting and performance monitoring
- Analyzing financial results to identify suggestions for cost reduction, efficiency gains, and overall improvements.
- Playing a key role in the development and monitoring of performance metrics to track progress toward company objectives.
- Ensuring accurate financial reporting for customer contracts and conducting credit analyses for clients, such as Relationship Pricing and Pharma Contracts.
- Cultivating expertise in reporting systems (e.g., AX, CPM, BI), leading their management, and spearheading enhancements to reporting and dashboard capabilities.
- Upholding a culture of open and effective communication across all financial team levels.
- Upholding the highest ethical standards and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, while providing recommendations for enhancements and monitoring internal control policies.
- Undertaking additional duties and special projects as needed within the finance department or as directed by the CFO.
- Travelling periodically to the US, Brazil, and Europe as required by the position.
- University degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Certified Public Accountant or equivalent designation or equivalent practical work experience.
- Minimum 7-10 years related experience with 5 years in a management/supervisor role.
- Strong understanding of finance, accounting, and costing principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) knowledge is an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Experience with SAP, Microsoft AX or other major financial and manufacturing reporting system is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing accounting, product costing, budgeting and forecasting.
- Strong organization skills, timeliness, and accuracy.
- Very strong oral and written communication skills; supports and creates effective teams.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
