We are growing again! We are adding an experienced Senior Automation Designer to our Design Team. Your extensive experience, coupled with your knack for innovation, will drive our projects forward. You'll work with Solidworks software to conceptualize, design, and develop cutting-edge automation equipment tailored to the specific needs of our clients in the automotive sector.
- $75k to 87k, depending on experience

- Mechanical Engineer Degree or similar
- 5 years of Canadian experience with designing automation equipment
- Extensive Solidworks Software experience and skills
- Proven Team Leader
- Utilize Solidworks software to design and develop automation equipment for various processes in the plastics area of automotive manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate them into innovative design solutions.
- Lead the design process from concept to production, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Introduce new ideas, technologies, and standards to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in design and development processes.
- Conduct thorough testing and validation of designs to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Design automation and assembly equipment.
- Prepare and interpret technical drawings, calculations, customer standards and specifications.
- 3D modelling and 2D detailing to create multiple iterations of design prototypes using Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Generate and organize fully detailed BOMs.
- Maintain budget and timelines.
- Prepare and produce detail prints and assembly drawings.
- Write equipment manuals, maintenance schedules and reports.
- Ensure all completed designs match customer specifications.
- Support the Assembly and Controls departments during design, assembly and debug stages of a project.
