Due to our growth, we need extra hands-on-deck. You'll will manage a small team of 3-5 bookkeepers in addition to your own caseload.
Team Member Support Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support for Bookkeeping team members.
- Facilitate team meetings for educational discussions and team check-ins, based on a schedule determined by the team's needs.
- Facilitate quarterly team member progress reviews.
- Provide spot training as necessary.
- Update team members on company information and announcements.
- Provide work coverage when necessary.
- Monitor, assess and adjust team member workload and schedules as needed.
- Monitor, edit and approve team member time entries.
- Approve requests as per company policies.
- Provide clarification and information on company policies as needed.
- Onboard and train new team members.
Client Support Responsibilities:
- Manage full cycle bookkeeping.
- Reconcile accounts.
- Prepare HST returns.
- Review and process A/P and A/R reports.
- Manage client invoicing and receipt of payments.
- Maintain general ledgers and financial statements.
- Post journal entries using QB, QBO, Sage, and other software as necessary.
- File source deductions, WSIB, tax payments and other government remittances.
- Maintain open communication with team members and manager.
- Maintain ongoing communication with clients.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Assess and manage workload.
- Other duties as assigned.
Competency Requirements:
- Five years experience in full-cycle bookkeeping required.
- Must have demonstrated leadership experience.
- Five years experience in customer service required.
- Three years experience managing small teams required.
- Three years experience using QuickBooks required.
- Post secondary education related to bookkeeping preferred.
- Industry related experience in farming, agriculture, manufacturing, or commercial and residentials rental properties considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of software including as MS Word, Excel, Teams, QBO, Sage, Eagle.
- Exceptional attention to detail with demonstrated high level of precision and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized and demonstrated ability meets deadlines.
- Analytical, solutions oriented, resourceful.
- Ability to remain professional and adaptable in a changing environment.
- Ability to work both autonomously and within a team.
