We are seeking a dynamic, passionate SENIOR LINE COOK, who is looking to join a fast-paced, talented kitchen team at the Drake Devonshire + Motor Inn. This seasonal position offers the opportunity to work with a fantastic culinary team focusing on producing high quality, healthy dishes consistently for guests to enjoy on site. The role is committed to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to The Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine & Sous Chef. Working as a Senior cook, with experience cooking proteins (Meat & Fish). While on shift, your role will include, but not be limited to:

  • Understanding, adhering to and executing all kitchen operational policies + procedures, standards and training programs
  • Acting as a collaborate member of the Drake Back of House management team, working closely with Special Events, Marketing, F+B FOH and Hotel to create exceptional offerings for our guests and increase Drake's profile as a dining destination
  • Ensuring a unique and consistent guest dining experience by actively managing the team and resolving issues, should they arise
  • Executing menu items from start to finish. This includes preparation of ingredients, butchery of proteins, cooking and plating main proteins dishes in a timely manner.
  • Working with seasonal ingredients while maintaining knowledge of all product being used
  • Honing your existing skills while learning new techniques and building your skill set
  • Working collaboratively with BOH staff
  • Maintaining cleanliness of station
  • Properly set up, breakdown, and cleaning kitchen pre and post service.
  • Accountable for following proper company, food & health safety and sanitation protocols

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of progressive kitchen experience in a fine or fast paced casual dining environment
  • Demonstrated awareness of and interest in current culinary trends in the marketplace
  • Experience in a high volume establishment with significant availability for evenings, weekends and special events business
  • Positive, team-player with a strong eye for detail
  • Genuine interest in food and a good work ethic
  • Open to constructive criticism, be an adaptable and fast learner, with a willingness to grow within the team
  • Demonstrated patience, tact and diplomacy while working in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task, remain cool and keep up in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication experience, both verbal & written
