Position Description

We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our Brink Point-of-Sale (POS) software development team where the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in manual software quality assurance testing.

As we continue our flexible workplace arrangements, it is crucial for our employees to ensure they have a reliable internet and cellular connection in place. Position Location

Remote Canada.

Pay Band

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 CAD per year commensurate with work location, experience, skills, certifications, education, and prior accomplishments. The position may be eligible for additional compensation, including a bonus, commission and/or equity, as applicable.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of quality assurance experience in the software industry.
  • Desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process, product quality and reliability.
  • Understanding of standard QA practices and strategies.
  • Strong functional testing background, including defining test strategies, test planning, test case design, and execution.
  • Candidate will have strong attention to detail.
  • Capable of learning and documenting a highly configurable product.
  • Candidate who strives to understand how things work, but will ask questions when appropriate.
  • Must be detail oriented, reliable and have the ability to work both in a team environment and alone with general direction and supervision.
  • Ability to understand REST or SOAP API, JSON and XML formats. Experience using API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI a plus.
  • Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering or related field.

What You will Do and Be Responsible For

  • Candidate will be involved in all aspects of the teams' testing, including manual regression testing, ad hoc testing, API testing.
  • Learning product and applying knowledge to all testing.
  • Learning and implementing various toolsets to effectively conduct testing.
  • Developing detailed testing approaches and plans for specific test areas.
  • Writing clear, easy-to-follow test cases.
  • Writing comprehensive and complete test plans.
  • Writing clear and concise documentation.
  • Conducting test case reviews and ensuring requirements traceability, proper coverage.
  • Analyzing identified defects, providing sufficient details to understand, replicating and resolve the defect.
  • With guidance, able to design test strategies and test cases for complex systems.
  • Executing various types of testing (e.g. functional, integration, end-to-end) on a variety of platforms (e.g. mobile, web, portal frameworks).
