One of our food processing clients is looking for Quality Assurance Supervisor at Brantford, ON location for their facility.
Shift - Days/Night
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulations, and company policies.
Supervise the Quality Assurance system at the plant to ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements from corporate, CFIA/Canada, and FDA/USA, as applicable to customers.
Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, production processes, and finished products to identify deviations from quality standards.
Investigate and resolve quality issues, non-conformances, and customer complaints in a timely manner.
Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, including test results, inspection reports, and corrective actions taken.
Generate and update quality documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and specifications.
Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and food safety principles.
Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization through training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the quality and safety of incoming raw materials and ingredients.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization to enhance product quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) to address root causes of quality issues and prevent their recurrence.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of previous QA supervisory experience and proven ability to manage a high performing team.
Previous experience in quality assurance or quality control roles in the food industry.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections and documenting quality data.
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
