Position Summary

Our ideal candidate is someone who works well in a team environment, but who is also able to work autonomously on daily tasks. The successful incumbent will have experience ensuring all products are built to the highest level of quality while following all standard work and best practices as documented in current work instructions. A customer first mentality is critical to success in this role and proven experience with this will be given special attention. This position will be within the Manufacturing Operations team and will report to the Manager, Assembly.
Key Accountabilities

  • Build and test electronic assemblies
  • Work with assembly tools
  • In-line quality checks for all assemblies
  • Highlight daily production issues to Manager as they arise
  • Following work instructions to ensure units are built to the highest quality standards
  • Responsible for identifying when a process is deviating from the norm and take action to correct it
  • Suggest changes to improve current processes
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste in the production process
  • Strictly following health and safety procedures and protocols
  • Enter assembly build and quality check information into the ERP system (NetSuite)
  • Packing and labeling of finished goods
  • Familiar with using personal protective equipment (glasses, gloves, etc)
Skills/Qualifications
  • Quick learner
  • 5+ years experience building electronic devices
  • Good motor skills and the ability to do fine assembly
  • Ability to read and carefully follow instructions
  • Experience in a start-up or pilot production environments is an asset
  • Ability to plan and work within a team environment
  • Ability to move quickly and safely
  • Keen eye for process improvements
  • Confidence and ability to troubleshoot problems
  • Awareness of when to involve senior staff in more complex problems
  • Sense of urgency
  • Reliable
Additional Assets
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Diploma or high school certificate
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Experience with light assembly of electronic hardware
  • Basic Computer skills (G-Suite experience is an asset)
