Position Summary:

Position: Skilled Labourer (2 positions available)

Type: Project – 10 weeks

Location: CNUL Albian CM

Schedule: 7 on/7 off – Compressed Work Schedule

Role Summary:

Bouchier is seeking a Skilled Laborer who will play a pivotal role in supporting a 10-week project on the CNUL Albian Camp Maintenance site. Over the course of the 10-week project, the Skilled Laborer will primarily assist the carpenter with trenching and groundwork tasks while also contributing to barricade placement and removal. Additionally, the Skilled Laborer will provide essential support to Hydrovac operations and assist other trades as necessary. This role requires a proactive and adaptable approach to ensure the smooth progress of maintenance activities throughout the project duration.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist with trenching and groundwork tasks, collaborating closely with the carpenter for efficient execution.
  • Participate in barricade placement and removal activities while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Provide support to Hydrovac operations, including setup, maintenance, and cleanup tasks.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople as needed, contributing to various project requirements.
  • Perform clean-up on site and at the working location.
  • Install signs according to highway standards.
  • Paint as required.
  • Properly store tools.
  • Set up and operate de-watering systems.
  • Act as a flag person when required.
  • Spot for loader and other equipment.
  • Patch holes in walkways.
  • Perform housekeeping functions.
  • Operate forklift, skid steer, and zoom boom as required.
  • Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor.

Education & Experience:

  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract is required.
  • One of the following basic Safety Orientations are required:
    • CSTS-09
    • OSSA BSO (Basic Safety Orientation before December 31, 2018)
    • CSO (Common Safety Orientation after January 1, 2019)
  • Proven experience in skilled labor or construction-related roles, with a focus on trenching, groundwork, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with carpentry principles and practices preferred.
  • Ability to operate basic tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty test.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to follow instructions and adhere to safety protocols at all times.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
  • Fluent in spoken, written, and reading English.
