The Apprentice Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing and servicing mechanical and electrical systems and components of commercial transport trucks.

Responsibilities
- Work with our team of Journeyman and Apprentice Commercial Truck Transport Technicians in servicing over 10,000 trucks per year
- Adjust, repair and/or replace parts and components on all commercial transport truck and trailer vehicle systems under the guidance of Journeymen mentors
- Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrication and tune ups
- Utilize OEM specified diagnostic procedures to diagnose and repair defects on chassis and drivetrain systems in a timely manner
- Perform diagnostic road tests
- Accurately communicate diagnostics and repair plans with supervisor
- Remain accountable to the Service Manager and Shop Foreman for all work performed
- Tag warranty parts and customer parts as required
- Participate in all training programs made available through Peterbilt and outside vendors
Qualifications
- Completion of secondary school
- Enrolled in a four-year Truck and Transport Technician Apprenticeship
- Valid class 1 OR 3 Driver's License with airbrake endorsement is an asset
Compensation Rate
- $24.84 - $44.71 per hour
- Pay rate will be determined based on previous experience, relevant certifications and apprenticeship level
