VISION:

SCOPE:

The Evaluation Specialist will provide overall support and assistance to ONWA's Research and Evaluation Portfolio. The Evaluation Specialist is responsible for developing comprehensive performance measurement tools and strategies using various Indigenous methodologies and data governance techniques. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the effectiveness of the programs and initiatives. The Evaluation Specialist will compile data to create comprehensive reports for the Project Manager including actionable insights and recommendations to make informed decisions. They will provide training and data summaries for internal stakeholders, fostering a culture of data literacy and evidence-based practices for the Indigenous Women and their families.

The Evaluation Specialist will provide expertise in evaluation methodologies and ensure evidence-based practices are applied to the data projects. The Evaluation Specialist will provide evidence and compile information to facilitate informed decisions to effectively meet the needs of Indigenous women and their families while supporting all the portfolios.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' work experience in the area of Social Science, Public Health Administration, Indigenous studies, women studies or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Proven working experience related to transcription and analysis software i.e. otter.it, NVivo, Survey Monkey, statistical software (SPSS, STATA) is an asset.
  • Experience with data collection, management, cleaning data sets and practices to protect sensitive information.
  • Ability to communicate, support and train internal and external stakeholders on an as needed basis.
  • Knowledge of and experience working for Not-For-Profit Organizations.
  • Proven knowledge of performance measurement tools and strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of Indigenous methodologies and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in relation to research and evaluation, performance measurement, and data governance with a focus on enhancing research outcomes and ensuring cultural relevance and sensitivity.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative data collection software and strong analytical skills.
  • Understanding of social determinants of health and differences/considerations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous populations.
  • Strong project management skills, including proven ability to ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources efficiently, and manage timelines effectively.
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management and presentation skills with the ability to follow through on assigned duties independently within strict deadlines.
  • Excellent written and oral communications, with emphasis on keen listening and ability to effectively interpret verbal and non-verbal communications to meet the needs of prospective community members.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples, knowledge of Indigenous cultures and traditions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current issues facing Indigenous Women and their families, including Indigenous Gender-Based violence and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).
  • Ability to speak an Indigenous Language is considered an asset.
  • Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check.
  • Valid ‘G' license with 2-million-dollar insurance coverage.
  • Cellular phone and internet access are required within this position.
  • Ability to travel when required.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements. This will be based on operational needs and will be determined by the ONWA.
  • Must be dependable and accountable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.
