Job Summary:
As a 433A Licensed Millwright with rigging skills, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. This role requires a high degree of precision and expertise in handling complex machinery and ensuring its optimal functioning within industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation of Machinery and Equipment:
  • Install new or relocate existing machinery and equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools, and welding equipment.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand tools and power tools.
  • Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
  • Identify and repair or replace damaged or malfunctioning machinery parts.
  • Service mechanical pneumatic, hydraulic, and other systems, and correct those that do not operate within established performance standards.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Perform detailed analysis of complex machinery and systems to resolve what is causing operational issues.
  • Rigging and Handling:
  • Plan and execute the lifting and moving of heavy machinery and equipment using cranes, hoists, or other rigging equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during the rigging process.
  • Documentation:
  • Document installation, maintenance, and repair actions by completing records and reports.
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and supplies.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Adhere to workplace safety policies and regulations.
  • Train and guide junior mechanics and apprentices in best practices of millwright work and safety procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work collaboratively with electrical technicians and other plant personnel to ensure the efficient operation of machinery.
  • Communicate effectively with management and colleagues regarding ongoing machinery status and maintenance.
Qualifications:
  • Valid 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright license.
  • Proven experience with rigging and handling heavy machinery.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and detailed repair manuals.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Physically capable of handling manual labor, including lifting, bending, and moving heavy equipment.
Education:
  • Completion of an apprenticeship program in millwright.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
  • Extensive experience working as a millwright, preferably in industrial settings.
  • Experience with welding and fabrication is considered an asset.
