We are currently looking for a full-time Yard Machine Operator. The Yard Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of straight pipe and bent pipe, on and off trucks and racks, and in and out of shops. Qualifications and Requirements:
- Capable of giving and taking direction whilst working as part of a team
- Possess clear communication skills, verbally and non-verbally
- Dedicated, driven
- Capable of standing/sitting for extended periods while working outdoors
- Able to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs
- Good physical health
- Valid Telehandler Certification
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
•Read, understand and follow working instructions/directions, policies, procedures and safework practices
•Load, unload and transport pipe within the yard and to/from shops
•Consistently be aware of safety hazards or concerns and act accordingly
•Be aware of safe operation of yard equipment, including forklift
•Ensure pipe has been tagged and is un-damaged before unloading/loading onto trucks or shops
•Assist departments by picking pipe and delivering to shops
•Practice care when loading/unloading pipe to avoid damage
•General housekeeping of yard and shipping shack
•Be aware of yard layout and location of material
•Read, understand pick tickets and shipping material paperwork
•Maintain supply of nailed dunnage
•Attend meetings as required
•Attend training courses or seminars
•Other duties as requested or required
