Description:
Are you looking for a unique and flexible, entry-level Accounting position? SARC is currently recruiting a temporary full-time Finance Assistant for a 4-month term, with the possibility of extension. The Finance Assistant supports accounts receivables and accounts payables functions, along with providing excellent customer service to our SARC and SARCAN Recycling teams.
SARC is a provincial association that provides services to nonprofit organizations to expand their potential and support the work they do within their communities. SARCAN Recycling, a division of SARC, provides environmental protection, employment creation and economic development through a province-wide network for recycling beverage containers, and other household materials.
You will be able to apply your knowledge and experience in finance and accounting and help to create a greener, more inclusive future for Saskatchewan by joining our team made up of people of all abilities, in communities across the province.
Essential Job Functions
  • Assist with back-up for the Accounts Payable positions as required, including monitoring the A/P Mailbox, generating purchase orders and coding/entering invoices.
  • File accounting information resulting from A/P & A/R functions, as required.
  • Assist in other accounts payable and accounts receivable duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Minimum 1 –2 years of progressive accounting experience in a business environment required
  • Attention to detail is required to ensure the quality of accounting results
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • A solid understanding of Windows-based accounting software.
  • High ethical conduct; acts with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as appropriate.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Must provide a satisfactory criminal record check as a condition of employment
