Job Description

Hatch and Bantrel have formed the Hatch Bantrel Joint Venture (HBJV) to execute engineering and construction on the BHP Jansen Potash Mine Project in Saskatchewan. After successfully completing the Definition Phase Study for the project, the HBJV is currently carrying out the Detailed Engineering Phase for the Processing, Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) and Mining Areas of the 4.5 Mtpa Stage 1 Potash Mine. With a published TIC of US $5.3-5.7 Billion this will represent one of the largest projects and private investments in Canada. The HBJV will use a hybrid of best-in-class new developing technologies and systems as well as the proven HBJV suite of tools to execute this exciting project.

The Preservation and Maintenance Coordinator works to ensure compliance with project and BHP maintenance requirements for site equipment, planning and scheduling support, as well as data management and entry. This role will create the preservation strategies for the project; supervise and lead the preservation effort, this includes preservation technicians' oversight and assignment of duties. You will liaise with equipment engineers, equipment vendors, construction personnel and operations team members.

The successful candidate will have keen safety awareness and advocacy, experience with multi-discipline technical planning and coordination of work within a simultaneous operation environment. Having technical expertise relevant to design and operation of assigned systems.

* Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on a 14 day on 7 days off rotation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the preservation & maintenance strategy.
  • Coordinate and inspect all activities associated with the protection, preservation and maintenance of all company supplied equipment until they are turned over to the operation team utilizing the projects Site Sense program.
  • Conduct audits on project owned and contractor purchased and supplied equipment to ensure smooth transition to the commissioning team.
  • Attend and participate in weekly shop production meetings to maintain awareness of, and to report on, preservation and maintenance status.
  • Communicate effectively for preventive maintenance call requests from our internal and external customers.
  • Schedule and coordinate necessary service with customers and preventive maintenance technicians.
  • Enter SME provided preservation schedule information into the database.
  • Audit & interact with contractors, to ensure compliance of assigned preservation activities.
  • Enter & audit preservation activities performed by in-house Craft for received materials.
  • Update and maintain preservation product safety data sheets in ChemAlert.
  • Provide database training for contractors.
  • Identify and resolve database issues with database provider.
  • Monitor preservation database for upcoming and due preservation activities and notify SME and in-house Craft.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minium 4 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Basic understanding of RFID Technology is an asset.
  • Experience within an industrial construction, oil & gas or related industry is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance of construction equipment.
  • Experience in service delivery activities and processes.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to meat deadlines, highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task with a high-volume workload.
  • Sound knowledge of MS office software tools, Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and make informed, logical decisions.
