Job Description

Bantrel is seeking an experienced Inventory Coordinator to oversee material control processes and ensure seamless project operations. You'll liaise with Home Office Engineering and suppliers to maintain efficient communication and address any material-related issues. From attending procurement meetings to preparing shipping documents, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining inventory accuracy and facilitating material flow. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant experience, with a background in a Procurement, Engineering, and Construction company. Proficiency in process improvement, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role. A degree in Business Administration and knowledge of construction materials management are advantageous.

* Please note this position is not eligible for a relocation subsidy or living out allowance. This will be a camp position on a 14 day on 7 days off rotation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with Home Office Engineering to establish and maintain the understanding and support needed to effectively monitor and manage the material control process.
  • Communicate with suppliers to ensure performance required by the purchase order to meet project needs.
  • Attend and participate in procurement and shop production meetings to maintain awareness of, and to report on, material issues and status.
  • Communicate with the Contract Administrator (CA), to manage the commercial performance of the shop fabrication work, all material issues that may have commercial impact.
  • Review purchase order receiving documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare Material Receiving Report (MRR). Contact vendors to resolve any discrepancies. Assist in monitoring their compliance as specified in the contract.

  • Perform count and inspection of arriving material. Ensure receipt documentation is retained and recorded in BPS with permanent material receiving report (MRR).
  • Prepare documentation to record unsatisfactory, over, short, and damaged conditions of materials received and maintain UOS&D Log.
  • Ensure that all material is sorted and stored in accordance with the project storage plan and that the location of material in storage is properly reflected on the appropriate storage records (manual or automated).
  • Perform inventories as required to validate inventory records.
  • Assist procurement supervision with the overall responsibility of maintaining custody of all project materials.
  • Ensure that issues of material are properly controlled and documented in accordance with project procedures.
  • Take part in the disposition of surplus project materials as approved by project management and directed by procurement supervision.
  • Prepare shipping documents and registers for all materials shipped from temporary operating and jobsite locations.
  • Maintain registers to control industrial gas bottles log, returnable reel log, and returnable containers.
  • Prepare equipment condition or inspection reports for rental equipment. Coordinate inbound inspection with site mechanic and ensure documentation is generated and filed.
  • Prepare “Inspection Report, Construction Equipment” for equipment rentals from equipment rental companies.
  • Prepare and maintain Bechtel Procurement System (BPS) Construction Equipment Log and, inventory control records (manual and automated).
  • Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • The incumbent must have 3-5 years progressive experience or training in Procurement, Engineering or Construction or related industries.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in leadership and process improvement initiatives.
  • General Knowledge of planning, receipt, storage and issuance of construction parts and materials.
  • Proficiency in expediting with experience in one or more Procurement functions.
  • Knowledge of commercial management and experience in project planning and operations, including both office and jobsite locations.
  • Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Team-centric approach that is supportive and encouraging.
  • Able to manage shifting priorities while maintaining deliverable deadlines.
