The Town of Tillsonburg is looking for a Human Resources Summer Student who will be responsible for assisting the Human Resources Department with administrative functions.
Start Date: May 27, 2024
End Date: August 30, 2024
Wage: $16.55/hour
Weekly hours: 40
Openings: 1
Criminal Record Check is required for this position.
This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined pension plan.Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their resumes prior to the end of business day Friday May 24, 2024.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with records management (personnel files, job class files, recruitment files, etc).
  • Assist with the recruitment process (scan and save resumes, set up interviews, segregate candidates information, research and compile recruitment trends).
  • Assist with preparing template documentation (update and edit form documents as directed by HR staff).
  • Research, collect and compile data for various human resources initiatives.

Qualifications
  • University/College student in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business, etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software.
  • Proven ability to work independently and solve problems creatively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to take and follow directions.
  • Excellent research and editing skills.
  • Experience with corporate office environments an asset.
  • The successful applicant must provide a current Criminal Record Check from the Ontario Provincial Police.
