WHO are you:

You are a seasoned DevOps and a technology driven leader with deep experience working with software/DevOps engineers and managing cloud infrastructure with ease. You have the ability to take leadership on the projects, and have the knowledge and experience to architect, build, and operate systems to solve problems at a certain scale.Additionally, you enjoy participating in the definition of the team's roadmap, their objectives, and projects to help determine the future of our platforms.Finally, you are process-oriented and can define policies which will help the team with their daily results and ensure a timely delivery of all projects.

WHAT is the Role:

We are looking for a professional with a min. of 2 years of experience leading a team of engineers, and a min. of 4 years of previous experience in a DevOps role within a start-up and with strong emphasis on AWS cloud technologies. As the Sr. DevOps, you will be leading the designing, implementation, and optimization of our infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) principles, with Terraform as a core tool.

In terms of engineering, we operate in an iterative and product-centric manner. Features are built and maintained by the team that designs it, we strongly encourage our engineers to take ownership and pride in features they've built for the platform.

WHAT you need to SUCCEED:

  • Deep understanding of AWS services, you'll use it to architect and maintain, scalable, secure and high-performing cloud infrastructure.
  • Terraform wizard, being able to automate provisioning and management of all cloud resources, ensuring consistency and reproducibility across all our clients and development environments.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work closely with other cross-functional teams in the organization to resolve complex challenges related to infrastructure, ensuring smooth integration of DevOps practices within our development lifecycle.
  • Know how to implement cost-effective solutions, constantly optimizing cloud resources to maximize efficiency while meeting performance requirements.
  • Drive continuous integration and deployment processes, integrating CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment workflows.
  • Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and senior leaders. Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure a robust knowledge base within the team.
  • Being able to embrace an open-minded approach to explore unconventional solutions and technologies, fostering an environment of continuous learning and growth.
  • Good people management skills. You will be delivering your work through your team. Help them shine.

The position is based in Toronto or Calgary (Canada), and it will be hybrid in nature.

  • In our hybrid work model, we generally expect team members to spend 2-3 days per week in the office to enhance collaboration and team development. However, we are flexible and open to considering more remote work arrangements (up to 90% remote) for the ideal candidate. We appreciate the ability to meet in person on short notice for activities such as team building, brainstorming sessions, and handling urgent projects as necessary.
