Full-Time Clinical Pharmacist

The primary focus of this role is to lead clinical services for the pharmacy department including but not limited to patient care activities and networking with other health care providers and patient groups in the community. Primary responsibilities of the Clinical Pharmacist include:
- Provide a variety of clinical services to exercise full scope of practice, including but not limited to minor ailments and contraception services (MACS), medication and vaccine injections, medication reviews, adaptations, extensions, medication management, point-of-care testing.
- Promote the clinical services of the pharmacy team in the community
- Use technology appropriately and proficiently to aid in efficient delivery of clinical services
- Contribute to patient education activities in store and in the community
- Mentor other pharmacy team members to confidently deliver basic clinical services
- Keep up to date on all provincial/national pharmacy regulations and protocols.
- Knowledgeable of public vaccination programs, recommend and administer a variety of medication and vaccine injections.
- Potential for participating in media/marketing opportunities on variety of platforms.
- Seek opportunities for growth and development of clinical skills and specialty certifications.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain proficiency in all clinical services
- Bachelors or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
- Licensed pharmacist, registered and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia
- Practical experience in community pharmacy, 1 year minimum an asset
- Injection certified and comfortable administering injections to ages 4 years and older
- Clinical certifications or designations (CDE, CTH, CRE, CTE, or others) an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
- A desire to provide genuine caring and compassionate patient-centered care
- Experience and confidence providing the BC pharmacist expanded scope of practice
- Proficient use of computers and ability to utilize technology for patient records, appointment scheduling, and efficient provision of pharmacy services.
- Proficient use of resources and scientific literature to support clinical decisions
- Scheduling:
- Full time, 8 hour shifts
