1 Permanent Part-Time Position (22.5 hours/week)

Position Summary:
ErinoakKids is seeking an enthusiastic individuals to fill a part time permanent position as a Communication & Technology Facilitator (CTF) with the Assistive Devices Resource Service. The Communication & Technology Facilitator is part of a team that supports the provision of assistive technology for face-to-face communication, access and writing to our clients.

Position Summary:
ErinoakKids is seeking an enthusiastic individuals to fill a part time permanent position as a Communication & Technology Facilitator (CTF) with the Assistive Devices Resource Service. The Communication & Technology Facilitator is part of a team that supports the provision of assistive technology for face-to-face communication, access and writing to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with therapists in the arrangement, set-up and programming of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) equipment and materials
- Support Speech-Language Pathologists and Occupational Therapists in assessment and training sessions
- Program communication devices and create displays/systems for AAC users
- Provide individual/group training and technical troubleshooting to clients/families/school mediators in order to support both written and verbal communication skills
- Develop training materials for clients/families/school
- Provide families with information on ADP and CEP's leasing and/or purchasing policies/procedures and complete necessary paperwork
- Maintain expertise and knowledge of AAC technologies
- Graduate of a post-graduate Communicative Disorders Assistant program
- Experience with AAC systems: Speech Generating Devices, low tech communication systems and specialized computer software and hardware preferred
- Computer proficiency required
- Two years of clinical experience working with children with special needs preferred
- Ability to work independently and be an effective and collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle required
- Bilingualism in French and English is an asset
