The Systems Administrator is responsible for performing server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly. The Systems Administrator will also be responsible to monitor datacenter health using pre existing management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed. In addition, they will also maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, intranet, LANs, WANs, and network segments.

*This position is required to participate in STARS on call support rotation covering some evenings, weekends and holidays.*

- Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support;
- Analyze and diagnose security problems and implement fixes that resolve them;
- Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups;
- Manage and ensure the integrity of host computers, storage systems, and personal systems while meeting service levels;
- Maintain and improve virtualized servers, file servers, applications, and other services;
- Help to identify system/database/application issues, anticipate problems, and implement solutions within the current infrastructure;
- Perform on-site and remote user technical support;
- Assist in the organization and inventory of all hardware and software resources;
- Provide technical triage and troubleshooting of business-driven issues, and ensure the implementation of a solution;
- Work with various teams to better understand and mitigate risks in their environments;
- Troubleshoot unexpected or unplanned outages and work with other members to see the incident through to completion;
- Occasional desktop support following standard helpdesk procedures and log tickets;
- Follow up with users to ensure complete resolution of issues;
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention;
- Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
- A minimum of 3-5 years in previous System Administrator experience coupled with 1 year of desktop support experience;
- Bachelor's degree in technology or computer science a strong asset;
- Experience with virtualized server environments an asset;
- Experience supporting virtualization infrastructure and a Windows environment;
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2008-2016;
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Windows Desktop operating system and applications;
- Excellent knowledge and experience with Cisco/Meraki switches in a multi-location environment;
- Experience with SIEM's including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and security best practices;
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Management and Office365Administration (Exchange, Teams, & SharePoint);
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Porta including setup/maintenance Virtua Machines and Azure Resources;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Self-motivated, engaged in technology, passionate about new technology;
