Schell Dental Ceramics is expanding and is currently seeking a part-time experienced bookkeeper working both from home and in the office. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in contributing to the financial success of the company. As the ideal candidate, you will be responsible for full cycle bookkeeping, providing accurate and timely financial information and demonstrating a keen eye for detail while having an interest in technology proficiencies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to showcase your skills and expand your knowledge by assisting other roles within the finance department as necessary.


Additional responsibilities will include:


  • Responsible for full cycle bookkeeping, providing accurate and timely financial information;
  • Manage accounts payables, receivables, and invoicing processes;
  • Reconcile monthly balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and ensuring accurate coding within accounting software;
  • Manage the vendor account management, processing payments electronically as required;
  • Retrieve invoices and financial documents from online accounts for record keeping and reconciliation;
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions;
  • Collaborate with the financial team to integrate technology into bookkeeping practices and improve efficiencies;
  • Assist the Accounting Assistant with the processing of payroll, including reviewing and approving employee expenses, reconciling timesheets, and managing attendance records such as sick days, vacation, and overtime;
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures;
  • Ensure timely management of all government calculations, filings, and payments in a timely manner, including GST, PST, EHT;
  • Provide back up to the Accounting Assistant for payroll and other duties when necessary;
  • Assist the Controller with any special projects as needed;
  • Ensure compliance with all accounting principles and standards;
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of Bookkeeping experience;
  • Previous experience with accounting software, QuickBooks online is an asset;
  • Strong computer literacy, including excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping;
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills, with the ability to multitask;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a collaborative work style;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment;
  • The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity.

This exciting part-time, hybrid role (20-30 hours per week) offers an hourly rate of $32.00 - $35.00 based on experience.
