Proximity Institute is an independent charitable organization dedicated to enabling effective leadership at the most senior level in Ontario hospitals. Proximity was founded by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA).

Proximity works in partnership with Ontario hospital CEOs and their top teams on the leadership priorities that matter most for Ontario hospitals. . Our long-term ambition is to work collaboratively with incumbent CEOs to identify, develop and ready a quality pipeline of the next generation of CEO talent. About The Role

The Consultant, Strategic Leadership Initiatives is an integral member of a small, high-performing team responsible for developing unique forms of value creation for and with Ontario hospital leadership. The Consultant will lead, influence and contribute to a portfolio of leadership development projects such as: collaborating with academic partners on applied research initiatives; enabling and/or facilitating roundtables, dialogues, or debates; developing and writing outputs (such as short articles, briefing documents or business/teaching cases); leveraging creative modes of leadership development, such as film and video.

About You

You are a critical thinker who brings a strong analytical mind to stakeholder-facing work that furthers Proximity's strategy. A keen student of senior leadership, with a motivation to contribute to Ontario's hospital sector through the lever of leadership development and change leadership, you bring capabilities and experience in the following areas:

· stakeholder engagement and building trust-based relationships, collaborations and partnerships

· disciplined approaches to problem-solving including needs analysis, frameworks and applied research (direct involvement or contracted oversight)

· business case development and clear, logical writing and communication skills

· at ease with the concepts of strategic choices, ambiguity and leadership dilemmas

· demonstrates clarity of thinking and the ability to make complex problem definition and approaches simple and understood.

You have an entrepreneurial spirit and thrive on the energy and learning from running with multiple, unfolding strategic projects simultaneously, while also effectively managing and organizing well under pressure. People would describe you as genuinely curious; you ask thoughtful questions and you listen to comprehend.

You think conceptually while being pragmatic. You have a natural inclination to explore and then synthesize findings, conduct thematic analysis, connect the dots and find patterns, formulate questions and generate hypotheses with discipline and rigour.

Qualifications and experience

· Master's degree in business administration, leadership or equivalent required

· 10+ years work experience either within or outside the hospital/healthcare sector
