Position Overview:

Working an average of 50 hours per week on jobsites in Northern Ontario, you will be reporting to your Project Manager. A supervisor's responsibilities focus on planning and engaging successful construction processes effectively and safely by directing a team of field workers and coordinating with sub-trades. A supervisor has ownership of the worksite and the performance results. Working outside in the elements in a team environment, around heavy equipment, the supervisor at times is required to perform physical tasks and/or office related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in pre-execution planning
  • Job site organization, safety, scheduling and performance
  • Present pre-task instructions and safety meetings
  • Lead and work with a crew of 2-15 workers and sub-contractors
  • Read, understand and follow construction drawings, instructions and specifications
  • Direct, supervise and complete various civil construction projects effectively
  • Input timecards, daily logs, schedule updates, material inventory, etc.
  • Type of work varies to road building, laying pipes, civil infrastructure, demolition, landscaping, concrete, paving, site work, etc.

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in civil construction
  • Familiar with Microsoft office suite, Outlook, Excel, Project.
  • Familiar with GPS and survey tools
  • Heavy equipment mechanical experience
  • Willing to participate in labour work
  • Open minded, ambitious and organized
  • Minimum G license, AZ Drivers license is an asset
