Current Opportunity
We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic, and hardworking Registered Sterile Compounding Specialist to join our growing team! You will prepare sterile pharmaceutical preparations in accordance with procedures and standards to ensure the highest quality of products. You will also participate in the maintenance of the cleanroom, inventory, and necessary equipment. Working in a dynamic environment, the candidate shall be adaptable, dependable and a team player. Hours of work will be Monday - Friday with rotating Sundays with shifts ranging anywhere from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The right candidate must be flexible to work within these hours.
General Responsibilities & Essential Functions
● Compound sterile pharmaceutical preparation using aseptic technique and following standard operating procedures and NAPRA, USP < 797> and USP < 800> standards.
● Document details of the process when compounding in the sterile clean room.
● Sterilize equipment and instruments as required.
● Submit to regularly scheduled garbing competency and glove fingertip testing, and conduct media fill tests.
● Use, clean and maintain all equipment.
● Monitor and maintain records for clean room facility and equipment as required.
● Clean and maintain the sterile clean room.
● Conduct air and surface sampling.
● Maintain product inventory, including completing inventory counts and checking expiry dates.
Qualifications
● Diploma from a CCAPP accredited college is required.
● Registered as a Pharmacy Technician
● Sterile Compounding experience is an asset.
● Previous experience in a pharmacy or other related fields is an asset.
● Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Strong attention to detail.
● Strong organizational skills.
Education
● Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program is required
Working Conditions
● Working inside a sterile cleanroom and/or controlled preparation area for long periods of the day.
