Earthtones Naturals is a Canadian company that formulates and distributes products specifically for the needs of curly, kinky and coily hair. We have grown tremendously over the past 10 years due to our commitment to providing our clients with premium products for natural hair care, education through webinars and workshops and promoting the product line through pop-up shops and our exclusive Love Your Hair™ Parties.
We offer one-on-one hair consultations to assist clients with creating customized hair regimens and to ensure they choose the products that are ideal for their hair care needs. Our products are distributed worldwide through salon and retail partners. In 2018 we opened our first boutique location in Ajax, Ontario where clients can purchas products, receive consultations and attend hair care workshops.
We are looking for a part-time Boutique Consultant for our Ajax location. As a Boutique Consultant you will be responsible for customer service and retail sales activities related to the boutique. Boutique Consultants maintain a solid knowledge and application of all products and services offered by Earthtones Naturals and will providing outstanding customer services as per company standards, ensuring all assistance is provided quickly and proficiently.
Job Duties
- Greet customers and discuss type, quality, and quantity of merchandise or services required
- Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge
- Replace used stock, rotate current stock, and ensure satisfactory inventory levels
- Participate in merchandising and promotional activities
- Ensure boutique conditions are consistently upheld to established standards
- Adapt communication style in order to deliver information effectively to a range of individuals
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner
- Take orders from customers and prepare products for purchase
- Ensure that customers are satisfied with the issue resolution as well as the resolution process itself
- Assist with display of merchandise
- Assist with inventory management
- Ensure accuracy in all transactions, inventory, and procedures
- Participate in all manner of store maintenance
- Work in partnership with management and other employees to maximize store sales and in-store presence
- Answer external and internal phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate departments
- Prepare sales and accept cash, credit card, or automatic debit payment
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- One year of experience in retail
- Passion for natural hair care and product knowledge is an asset
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to quickly learn new product and service knowledge, and communicate that knowledge effectively to clients
- Ability to implement and follow inventory procedures to ensure proper stock levels
- Ability to assess the needs of customers and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Ability to promote products
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
- Maintaining cleanliness of the boutique space
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
