About the role:

As an Early Childhood Educator at Compass ELC, you'll join a team of passionate professionals dedicated to nurturing young minds. Your role involves engaging with children, families, and community partners to create enriching learning experiences. You'll work 40 hours weekly, Monday to Friday, with flexible shift times within the program's hours (7 am to 6 pm).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead interest-based and play-based activities that reflect children's unique interests.
  • Maintain active supervision with children while still being engaged in play.
  • Documenting children's learning progress through observation, reflection, and research questions.
  • Foster strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning process.
  • Collaborate with coworkers, families, and community partners to create a supportive environment.
  • Participate in team meetings, professional learning opportunities, and staff training opportunities.
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in the program.
  • Follow CELC, CCEYA, and Ministry of Education policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
  • Familiarity with the Child Care Early Years Act and licensing standards.
  • Valid certifications including Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, Updated immunization records.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators
    • OR; is actively pursuing their ECE diploma.
