POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the guidance of the APC Supervisor, the position performs a variety of operator functions, which include manufacturing of high and low temperature material handling products, which are composed of a variety of fabric and composite materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for setup and operating of fabrication equipment, for the fabrication of composite products.
  • Reviewing and interpreting CAD drawings and blueprints for fabrication of different parts and finished good products.
  • Compute and calculate dimensions, tolerances, and measures for layout of work product.
  • Quality check product for accuracy of products and parts fabricated using different types of mechanical tools (vernier caliper, Certified tape measure, etc.).
  • Responsible for reporting deviations from specifications and tolerances to the supervisor, to understand conformance standards.
  • Responsible for training and moving to other areas within the department, as required to fill in or provide production assistance.
  • Sets-up and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resources materials while always maintaining cleanliness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Completion of High School.
  • Completion of post-secondary education in woodworking or cabinet making is an asset.
  • Experience working with table and chop saw(s), shaper, router, lathe, stamping press and slitting equipment.
  • Experience reading detailed drawings.
  • Proficient in mathematics, and conversions.
  • Proficient in computers and working within ERP systems.
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Excellent coordination and mechanical skills, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
