We are happy to say that we are looking for an ECE-IT Practicum Instructor to join us at Vancouver Career College, Coquitlam in BC.Position: ECE-IT Practicum InstructorJob Status: Part time, Ongoing, OnsiteLocation: 1180 Pinetree Way #5, Coquitlam, BC V3B 7L2Expected Start Date: May 10th, 2024Reports to: Associate Campus DirectorWorking Hours: Casual, on-going, Part Time (Anytime between 9 am to 4 pm, Monday to Friday)Salary: $27-$30/hrJob Responsibilities Specifically, the ECE-IT Practicum Instructor will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and reviewing students during practicum as the program requires
- Contact students and center before the practicum
- Arrange supervision visits after the practicum starts
- Council, mentor and support students during practicums
- Ensure students are understanding their assignment guidelines
- Ensure students are on schedule and up to speed on activity presentations
- Support students to resolve any conflicts or issues
- Developing strong, positive relationships with host childcare center
- Hosting weekly practicum seminars
- Evaluating student performance fairly and consistently
- Contributing to the development of curriculum and instructional materials
- Supporting the administrative functions of the campus to enhance the student experience
- Acting in a manner that upholds the College standards
- Participating in College and Program Activities
- To be successful in the Instructor position, individuals must be committed to developing, maintaining and demonstrating the following:
- Diploma or Degree from a recognized College or University in Early Childhood Education.
- Two or more years of experience working as a fully certified Early Childhood Educator in British Columbia
- Current up to date ECE BC Certificate to Practice from BC.
- Current Infant/Toddler certificate is a must.
- A completed or in progress credential in adult education and/or teaching experience is preferred.
- Satisfy specific position qualifications as prescribed in program design and program approval for the instruction of the courses.
- Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
- Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches an asset.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills, including presentation and group facilitation.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service.
- Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff.
- Ability to consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of students, to provide feedback and treat students equitably.
