Job Summary

Reporting to Design Engineering Manager, the Designer will design and engineer vibration isolation and seismic restraint system and solutions for the Vibro-Acoustics division of Swegon North America.

Responsibilities

  • Review project specifications and drawings, perform engineering calculations and select and apply suitable products and solutions
  • Review project drawings and mark up seismic restraint points for piping and/or ductwork, in accordance with applicable Building Code and Project Specifications
  • Design and engineer equipment bases
  • Provide engineering for basic structural design
  • Prepare project submittals and shop drawings
  • Comply with the administrative requirements of ERP (M3) system
  • Support product management team, project managers and sales team with all engineering requirements
  • Assist estimating team with vibration isolation restraint system take-offs and custom product estimates
  • Assist in streamlining of engineering processes through continuous improvement
  • Assist with documenting and maintaining SOPs, policies and standards for the Design team
  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the Vibro-Acoustics team

Qualifications

  • University degree in Mechanical or Civil-Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years HVAC industry experience
  • Detail oriented, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, communicates effectively with all business partners
  • Builds and maintains collaborative working relationships (internally and externally)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Bluebeam Revu for designing and implementing automation solutions
