We have immediate opening at our Prince George operation for a Fire Safety and Kitchen Suppression Technician.

Our Fire Safety and Kitchen Suppression Technician is responsible for delivering in-field fire services such as:

  • installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire extinguisher and kitchen suppression systems at commercial, industrial, and institutional sites.

Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

  • Inspecting, testing, servicing and repairing fire extinguishers.
  • Inspecting and testing fire hoses.
  • Servicing life-saving appliances.
  • Installing, inspecting, testing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing kitchen suppression systems.
  • Post-fire suppression system discharge inspection, cleanup, recharge, testing and certification.
  • Preparing materials for daily execution of assigned work orders.
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Ensuring safe work practices are followed safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Mentoring other team members including trainees as assigned.

They must also possess the following experience and training credentials:

  • 2+ years of field experience installing, inspecting, maintaining, modifying, and servicing fire kitchen suppression systems.
  • Experience inspecting, testing, servicing and repairing fire extinguishers, fire hoses and other life-saving appliances.
  • Manufacturer training in kitchen suppression systems (ex. Ansul, Amerex, Kidde, and Buckeye).
  • Knowledge of NFPA 101, NFPA 96, NFPA 17A, and NFPA 10 would be considered valuable.
  • ASTTBC certifications would be considered an asset.
  • Valid drivers license.

Applicants must be able to travel to client sites. Overtime and overnight travel may be required; therefore, hours of work/schedule will vary.
