As an Employee Benefits Service Specialist, a typical day might include:

  • Providing support to the Account Manager and Director of the Employee Benefits division, providing assistance with client inquiries, assessing employee benefits programs, and preparing comprehensive reports and proposals
  • Reviewing new business quotations for accuracy
  • Preparing detailed proposals for prospective clients
  • Assisting in implementation of new cases, including the preparation of associated documentation and coordination of requirements with clients and insurers
  • Coordinating with carriers regarding plan amendments, billings, and member enrollments
  • Preparing detailed client renewal reports
  • Creating employee presentation materials
  • Coordinating special assignments and group benefits marketing campaigns, as needed

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience in a corporate administrative support role, consistently meeting internal core competencies
  • Post Secondary degree or diploma

Want a leg up?

  • Group Benefits Administrator (GBA) designation and Life Insurance License desired (may be completed upon hire)
  • Employee Benefits / Insurance industry experience considered an asset

Must Haves:

  • Excellent written & oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • This individual is driven, extremely detailed oriented, self-motivated, and interested in career advancement
