The Role:
Clean equipment and rooms according to defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) . Diligently clean and maintain processing equipment according to established procedures to ensure proper processing and safe practices are used. Locations we are hiring for include but are not limited to: Brampton, Bradford, Toronto, Mississauga.
Sanitation Worker Duties and Responsibilities
* Maintain cleaning and sanitation in accordance with the company Sanitation Program
- Utilize chemicals and cleaning agents to clean and sanitize processing area walls, floor, and equipment
- Utilize sanitation tools in a proper and safe manner
- Removal of debris from processing area
- Communicate chemicals supply levels to management
- Observe and record facility conditions to ensure all areas are within company and regulatory specifications
- Verify the adequacy of cleaning and sanitation performed on areas and equipment and complete and sign off on appropriate forms
- Document actions taken in response to unsatisfactory observations on Equipment, Utensils, and/or Process Area conditions
- Complete testing when applicable
- Maintain plant safety
- Maintain proper use of equipment
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Provide back up support for other duties as needed
- Become certified as an electric pallet jack and forklift operator
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Report potential issues to management
Qualifications:
- Good verbal communication and understanding of written materials including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
- ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work with strong chemicals.
- Ability to work near or around machinery.
- Frequent exposure to noise, blood, bones, fat, grease, offal, waste meat etc.
Job Type: Contract
Pay $17.50-$20.00 per hour.
Hours: Weekends as needed & Monday-Friday
