Job Title: System Analyst - Applications Job ID: SC365082613Location: Edmonton, ABOverview:One of our respected clients within local government is looking to add an Application System Analyst to its team located in Edmonton. With a background rooted in Enterprise Application support you have a sound understanding of the Microsoft Application stack, including SharePoint, Dynamics CRM and how it integrates into a larger IT landscape that serves its members with support. You will also be an effective communicator and understand Tier 2 and Tier 3 support of service management. What you will be doing:
  • Work closely with service vendors to ensure that all service levels are met or exceeded and take on all Level 2-3 support in coordination with service vendors.
  • Work directly with vendors on new and existing hardware and software monitoring, evaluations, implementations and customizations and assist with the management of IT changes.
  • Respond to and resolve alerts from monitoring systems in coordination with service vendors to ensure the organization's continuity, availability and integrity.
  • Develop and document department related procedures related to systems, applications, architecture and processes
  • Play a major role in the problem management process as the core owner of problems through to their resolution.
  • Develop and maintain self-help documentation to be used by and accessible to all staff.
  • Manage and maintain an asset inventory and complete routine audits on all assets including server, user endpoints, applications and network.
  • Participate in planning, provisioning, installation, configuration, integration, customization, and operation of the organizations systems, applications, and related infrastructure
  • Perform daily tasks relative to the operational support of all systems and applications.
  • Play a role in the organization's cybersecurity.
  • Participation and support in Data Management as it relates to MS SQL, Power BI, and SSRS/SSIS within the organization. Assist and advise in the creation and maintenance of data driven insights, data migration, and data integrations.
  • Work with management to provide regular status reports including the completion of or assistance with incident reporting and documentation.
What you must have:
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Business Technology, Computing Sciences or another relevant discipline.
  • Certifications in the following would be an asset: ITIL Foundations; Microsoft Certifications (MS900, AZ900, MC910, etc.); A+
  • 3-5+ years of direct applied systems experience
  • In-depth knowledge of Dynamics 365 (CRM/ERP) and experience with its administration and configuration
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity Frameworks and experience aligning them.
  • Experience with the following key Infrastructure Technologies: Microsoft Server Operating Systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022), IIS and PowerShell scripting, Windows Operating Systems (10, 11), Microsoft SQL Server (2008 and newer); VMWare (ESXi and vCenter management)
  • Experience with Infrastructure connected to central storage devices, NAS or SAN ; SaaS solutions for both internal and external purposes; Supporting cloud environment; MS Azure; MS SQL and Power BI
  • Networking including fundamental understanding of:
  • TCP/IP
  • DNS
  • DHCP
  • Routing
  • Switching
  • Firewalls
  • IPv4/IPv6
  • SSL certificates (x.509)
  • LAN/WAN troubleshooting
  • Experience and in-depth knowledge with Microsoft hosted solutions including Dynamics CRM/ERP, SharePoint and Office 365 administration and configuration as well as Productivity Apps, Intune MDM, Teams and more.
  • Working knowledge and experience managing a Windows Active Directory (AD) and Azure AD.
  • Experience with technical project deployments from the planning through implementation stages.
  • Strong understanding of incident and service management procedures and processes, including use of a centralized ticketing system and knowledge of management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with others and use tact and diplomacy to resolve sensitive matters.
  • Working in an environment that coordinates with support providers.
  • High level of quality and integrity, with a sense of urgency and results orientation.
