Our client is currently seeking an experienced estimator who will be responsible for efficiently preparing full cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects, including material and labor.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Prepare accurate project estimates and proposals in a timely manner for Design-Build and Construction projects.

  • Independently calculate materials, labor, and equipment costs based on proposals, plans, and specifications, including project closings.

  • Determining the potential profitability of electrical projects to assist management in making sound bidding decisions.

  • Providing viable solutions to increase project profitability.

  • Experience with Accubid estimating software is an asset.

  • Work with management and team members to prepare final quotes.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors and clients.

  • Interpret documentation, specifications and drawings.

  • Prepare and review compliant budget and tender documents.

  • Maintain thorough records of unit rates for industry standard pricing.

  • Analyze current practices and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to achieve company objectives.

Requirements
  • Electrical background with experience in commercial and industrial projects.

  • Automation experience is an asset.

  • 2+ years electrical estimating experience.

  • Strong business development and project management skills (preferred).

  • Journeyman electrician ticket or engineering technologist (preferred) with strong computer skills.

  • Ability to work independently or in a team.

  • Effective communication skills.
