You are an experienced Cost Consultant with 8 years post-graduate experience looking for the next step or are currently undertaking a similar role in a similar environment

Job Description

You will be a Senior Consultant within our Infrastructure business working within our specialist Cost Assurance team to help review and scrutinise actual incurred cost and help drive supply chain improvement and efficiency for a range of major programmes and projects. The main purpose of the role is;

  • Deliver successful Cost Assurance commissions
  • Develop junior staff and be involved with recruitment to continue to develop the team and service line
  • Generating revenue by seeking opportunities internally and externally
  • Supporting bids

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Review construction contractor systems, controls and processes to provide a view on their ways of working, using intelligence from around the industry to build a view on best practice.
  • Analysis and understanding of complex construction contracts.
  • Performing testing of data and information using smart techniques and tools such as data visualisation and trend / pattern analysis.
  • Production of findings reports that deliver key findings, recommendations and messages in a succinct and professional manner.
  • Peer review of documents before publication.
  • Review of junior staff outputs.
  • Helping to maintain internal systems to ensure commission and financial management is compliant with business process.
  • Managing challenging and complex stakeholder relationships, often dealing with managers and directors of national or global construction firms.
Qualifications

Previous experience or a sound and suitable understanding of the following will be a distinct advantage in applying for this role:

  • Cost Assurance, or broader assurance experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as different procurement routes, disallowed cost areas, target price setting, calculation of pain/gain amounts etc.
  • Contract Management
  • Cost Management
  • Change management and control
  • Report writing – communicating complex messages succinctly to maximise impact
  • People management – working in a team environment and handling a variable workload through peaks and troughs
  • Identifying and driving efficiencies and improvements through the project lifecycle and supply chain
  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
  • Holds an appropriate professional body membership or equivalent (i.e. MRICS, CPA etc.)
