Overview:Our client's Major Accounts team for Northern Alberta serves their large accounts in the 1,000 plus employee size range. Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the needs and expectations of their valued group customers are met and exceeded on a continual basis. The customer experience we deliver to our plan sponsors is second to none and the expectation of the role of Manager of Major Accounts is to lead the account team in delivering on these goals with strong leadership and direction.
What you will be doing:
  • Act as Lead Account Manager for our largest and most high-profile clients.
  • Deliver on strategic objectives around maintaining and growing our presence in the large group benefits market.
  • Manage a team responsible for delivery of excellent customer experience, education and support of our clients.
  • Manage the delivery of policy renewals, ensuring that a balance is struck between the financial viability and the needs and expectations of our valued customers.
  • Negotiate on plan design and administrative options to optimize our customer's requirements and the company's best practice.
  • Responsible for increasing sales opportunities with existing clients – consulting on new business lines and opportunities to upsell directly to plan members.
  • Communicate directly with our customers about new or expanding products, services or process changes within the company.
  • Attend group department conferences and sales related functions as required.
What you must have:
  • A related diploma or degree, or equivalent work experience in a leadership role.
  • A minimum of 5 years sales management experience in managing a team is required
  • Previous experience within the Group Benefit Industry is essential
  • Life and Accident & Sickness licensing through the Alberta Insurance Council is require
  • Proven sales success and confidence in their abilities.
  • Strong project management skills are essential.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to deliver on expectations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to communicate and deal effectively with people at any level, including manager and executive level.
