Job Summary

­­­­­We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our team as a Desktop Support Administrator. Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, this position will perform a variety of day-to day systems and technology support to staff members at CMHA, Ontario.

This role is a special funded fix term contract for up to 12 months and this role is within the OPSEU Bargaining Unit

Core Responsibilities

As a Desktop Support Administrator your key accountabilities will involve:

  • Act as main resource for all client-side related hardware and software installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance, and Tier 2 troubleshooting.
  • Perform daily Tier 2 support, monitoring and administration tasks for the corporate Windows based client devices.
  • Setup laptops and peripherals for local and remote users.
  • Provide professional support to all users (including in-office/remote) for all IT related technical issues including hardware, software (custom and out of box), business applications, printers etc.
  • Support and perform routine upgrades and preventative maintenance for various hardware.
  • Work with the Network & Web Administrator to pro-actively maintain and develop the production and test environments, develop new processes and procedures, and improve the existing ones in order to increase the general efficiency.
  • Stay abreast of technological advancements and trends.
  • Provide after-hours Tier 2 support as required.

As a Desktop Support Administrator, your experience and qualifications will include:

  • 1-2 yrs experience or equivalent experience and/or education
  • College diploma in Information Systems
  • IT helpdesk and/or customer service-related experience considered an asset (preferable in medium sized environments).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Troubleshooting skills in Microsoft 365 and Windows 10/11 desktop environments.
  • Troubleshooting desktop, web applications, and network issues.
  • Understanding of network protocols used in LAN and WAN environments including remote connectivity.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and SharePoint Online.
  • Knowledge of Azure Active Directory and creation/management of users.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Intune or other mobile device management (MDM) and mobile app management (MAM) technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Cyber Security best-practices.

Salary

Hiring Rate : This position pays between $60,241.26 and $62,030.48 per annum, based on a 35-hour work week.

The salary grid for this role ranges between $60,241.26 at Step 1 and $67,726.73 at Step 5. The initial salary offered for this position is anticipated to fall between Step 1 and Step 2 of the salary grid as posted above as the hiring rate.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, Special Funded Temporary-Contract position. This position is based in Toronto, Ontario. This position will be responsible for working from the Toronto Office 5-days per week.

This position is also a desk job with extended periods of sitting, reading, telephone interaction, and working at the computer. This position involves some moderate lifting, shipping, and handling. Attendance at various meetings throughout the workday/workweek will be required; meetings may occur on short notice, depending on the circumstances.

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to maintain and submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination.
