Pay Rate: $100/hr incorporated; T4 rates also available

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a specialty in PACU nursing for a travel position in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in an PACU setting.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor post-anesthesia recovery of surgical patients in the PACU

• Assess vital signs, pain levels, and airway status post-surgery

• Administer medications and interventions as directed by physicians

• Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams for smooth transitions of care

• Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions

• Maintain sterile environment and adhere to hospital protocols

• Respond to emergencies and provide immediate interventions

• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement efforts.

Qualifications:

• Current RN licensure in Nova Scotia

• 4 years of experience in a PACU setting.

• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.

• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
