Accounts Receivable Coordinator

BLR Drafting & Design Inc. is a residential design and drafting firm located in historic downtown Fergus, Ontario. We are looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Coordinator to join us in a permanent, part-time role at our office in downtown Fergus. This role will report directly to the owner and be responsible for all accounts receivable activities for the organization.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Drafting & Design team to update project and time tracking applications.
  • Prepare and submit invoices to clients.
  • Maintain and update customer files and onboard new clients into accounting software.
  • Receive electronic and physical payments and complete bank deposits.
  • Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files and contact delinquent account holders to request payment.
  • Create reports regarding the status of customer accounts.
  • Submit and coordinate receipts, bills, and invoices with Accounts Payable.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Strong QuickBooks experience, preferably with QBO
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Outlook and Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with staff and clients

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum high school diploma required (diploma in Accounting preferred)
  • At least 2 years of related experience.

Role Details:

  • In-person at our downtown Fergus office
  • Part-Time: Average 6 hours per week, however hours may fluctuate depending on business requirements. In an average week, work will be performed in two 3-hour shifts per week (ideally on Tuesday and Thursday, but some flexibility on days of the week is available). Given the dynamic requirements of this role, we are looking for a candidate who can offer flexibility in their availability.
  • Hourly Wage: $22 per hour
  • Expected Start Date: ASAP
